JUST DO IT!

Come Follow Me

From today’s reading, Matthew 4:18-22 (USCCB):

As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers,
Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew,
casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen.

He said to them,

“Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

At once they left their nets and followed him.

He walked along from there and saw two other brothers,
James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John.

They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets.

He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him.

Jesus has also called you to follow Him. Have you accepted His call? Are you willing to give up everything to follow Him? Is there anything in your life holding you back from His call? He doesn’t want us along with our worldly attachments. He just wants us!

Lord, help me to evaluate my life and determine if there are worldly attachments which are keeping me far from You. I want to be detached from this world and follow You unhindered and unencumbered by temptations and distractions. Give me the strength to give myself wholly to You so that I may walk perfectly in Your will. Amen.
